Chapter 4 - The Corporate Guillotine

The wedding dissolved into absolute chaos.

The board members of Apex Biotech were standing up, furiously whispering to each other, realizing they were witnessing the spectacular, public implosion of their CEO. Tristan’s parents looked physically ill.

"Zoe, please, let's go into the back room!" Tristan begged, tears of absolute panic streaming down his face. His carefully constructed empire was burning to the ground in front of his investors. "We can fix this! She means nothing to me! She was just a mistake!"

"Hey!" Tessa shouted from the third row, standing up, her humiliation turning to rage as the man who had promised her the world threw her under the bus.

"You don't understand, Tristan," I said, completely devoid of mercy. "The wedding being canceled is the least of your problems today."

I looked at the front row. "Noah."

Noah stood up, buttoning his immaculate dark suit. He walked up the steps of the altar, carrying a sleek leather folder. The sheer presence of the legendary corporate attorney sent a fresh wave of murmurs through the crowd.

"Mr. Mercer?" Tristan choked out, stepping backward. "What are you doing here?"

"I am here to execute a corporate forfeiture, Mr. Davis," Noah stated smoothly, his voice radiating untouchable power. He opened the folder and handed Tristan a thick stack of legal documents.

"What is this?" Tristan whispered, his hands shaking violently.

"Those are the eviction papers for Apex Biotech," I announced, turning to face the stunned board members in the audience. "Under Section 4 of my founding patent agreement, any gross moral turpitude or fiduciary fraud by the acting CEO triggers an immediate, unilateral reversion of all intellectual property back to the creator. You used corporate funds to rent hotel rooms for your assistant, Tristan. You committed fraud."

I stepped closer to him, letting him feel the absolute, freezing weight of my power. "I pulled the patents yesterday. Apex Biotech is completely worthless. You are no longer the CEO of a billion-dollar company. You are a broke, unemployed fraud holding an empty shell."

Tristan fell to his knees on the altar. The arrogant, untouchable golden boy of Silicon Valley was completely shattered. He looked at the legal documents, realizing he had absolutely zero legal recourse. Without my patents, he owned nothing.

"You tried to take my life's work to fund your mistress," I replied coldly, looking down at him. "I'm just taking out the trash."

I turned to the crowd, smoothing the skirt of my wedding gown. "The ceremony is canceled. But please, enjoy the open bar and the catering. I paid for it."
