Chapter 7 - The Algorithmic Siege

I stood up, my blood turning to ice. "Did the algorithm misflag one of our ad campaigns? Submit an appeal to the support team."

"No, you don't understand," Chloe’s voice cracked as she dropped the tablet onto my desk. "It’s not an algorithmic glitch. It’s a targeted digital assassination."

I stared at the screen. The entire Meta Business Manager for APT Vietnam—our Facebook pages, our Instagram, our targeted global ad accounts—were completely disabled. Glaring back at me was a massive, terrifying red banner across the dashboard: Permanent Account Review Restriction.

There was no appeal button. There was no customer service chat. We had been entirely, irrevocably wiped off the platform. In the digital marketing industry, a permanent Meta lock was a corporate death sentence. We were bleeding hundreds of thousands of dollars in projected revenue by the minute.

Before I could even process the magnitude of the disaster, Marcus, my newly appointed Head of Global Security, strode into my office. His usually calm eyes were dark with a terrifying, protective fury. He turned his laptop toward me, his jaw clenched tight.

"Someone didn't just mass-report our ads, Victoria," Marcus said, his voice a low, dangerous rumble. "Someone orchestrated a military-grade corporate sabotage."

Marcus pulled up a series of hidden backend data logs. Across Facebook, a network of themed drama and news pages specifically targeting American and Asian investors—pages with generic, highly optimized names designed to bait the algorithm—were blasting a terrifyingly realistic video.

The video showed me sitting in a dimly lit restaurant, allegedly handing a briefcase of cash to a corrupt foreign labor official, laughing about laundering offshore money through my new firm. The caption utilized a massive curiosity gap designed for viral clickbait: Billionaire CEO Caught Bribing Officials! The Secret Tape She Tried To Bury...

"This is completely fabricated," I whispered, staring at the footage in absolute horror. "I have never been to that restaurant. I don't even know that man. How did they make my voice and my face look so flawlessly real?"

"It’s a deepfake," Marcus explained. "A highly advanced one, powered by a text-to-video AI engine called Seedance 2.0. It renders cinematic-quality videos that are virtually indistinguishable from reality. And the views aren't organic. Whoever did this went to the darkest online digital marketplaces and purchased thousands of Facebook VIA clone accounts."

"They are using these automated bot profiles to aggressively share, like, and mass-report your legitimate pages," Chloe added, tears brimming in her eyes. "They hijacked our ad accounts, tricked Meta’s compliance bots into permanently locking you out, and are pushing their fake news to millions of real users."

The realization hit me with the force of a freight train. Arthur Vance. He was a notoriously ruthless shadow venture capitalist who had lost millions when I seized Richard's assets. Vance had been Richard’s silent partner. He was the puppeteer, and he had just declared war.

I looked at the frozen, restricted screens of my life's work. The woman who would have panicked was dead.

"Marcus," I said, a cold, calculated fury replacing my initial shock. "Vance thinks he can hide behind black-market VIA clone accounts and fake drama pages. We don't fight the algorithm. We hijack the network."
