Pam Bondi Shares Hopeful Health Update After Thyroid Cancer Treatment

Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has shared an encouraging update after revealing she is undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer, telling reporters she is recovering and “doing well.”

Bondi, 60, confirmed to CNN and CBS News that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after leaving the Department of Justice in April. She said she has been receiving treatment and underwent surgery a few weeks ago as part of her care.

The news has brought a wave of concern and support from those who have followed Bondi’s long career in law, politics and public service. For years, she has been known as a high-profile Republican legal figure, first as Florida’s attorney general and later as U.S. attorney general. But this latest chapter is far more personal — a private  health battle that has now become public.

In her brief but reassuring update, Bondi made clear that while she is still in recovery, she remains positive about her progress. Her statement that she is “doing well, though” gave supporters reason to hope that her treatment is moving in the right direction.

Thyroid cancer can vary significantly depending on the type and stage, but many common forms are highly treatable, particularly when found before spreading. The American Cancer Society reports that five-year relative survival rates for localized papillary and follicular thyroid cancers are above 99%, though outcomes differ for more aggressive forms.
