Chapter 21 - The Milanese ViperPeace is a beautiful illusion. It lulls you into believing that the world has finally run out of monsters. But in the realms of high fashion and global wealth, monsters do not wear tactical gear. They wear bespoke cashmere, and they smile while they hold the knife.

Three years had passed since the morning on the Hamptons deck. Our daughter, Aria, was now a fierce, dark-haired toddler who ran through the estate with Noah’s unyielding confidence and my absolute refusal to accept the word no.
Moretti Bespoke was no longer just an American titan; it was a global phenomenon. We were weeks away from opening our ultimate flagship store in the heart of Milan’s Quadrilatero della Moda. We were stepping directly into the kingdom of the Italian fashion aristocracy, and the old guard was terrified.
It was a rainy Tuesday morning in our New York headquarters. I was in the glass-enclosed boardroom, reviewing the European marketing budgets, when Noah walked in. His jaw was clenched so tightly a muscle ticked beneath his skin. The loving father had vanished; the ruthless architect of the Moretti empire had returned.
He dropped a sleek, silver tablet onto the center of my desk.
"Lorenzo Rossi," Noah said, his voice a low, vibrating rumble of lethal intent. "He just declared war."
I stared at the tablet. Lorenzo Rossi was the patriarch of Casa di Rossi, a century-old Milanese fashion house that had dominated the European market for generations. He was old money, corrupt to the bone, and deeply threatened by our expansion.
The screen displayed a massive, highly coordinated smear campaign. Articles from bought-off European tabloids. Fabricated supply-chain reports accusing Moretti Bespoke of using unethical labor. It was a digital slaughter, perfectly timed to destroy our reputation just before the Milan launch.
"He’s choking our digital footprint," Noah explained, pacing the length of the boardroom. "Rossi’s holding company leveraged their connections to get our ad accounts flagged. Google is rejecting our promotional campaigns citing 'controversial content' due to the fake tabloids. He’s trying to silence us before we even cut the ribbon."
I leaned back in my leather chair. A familiar, icy adrenaline flooded my veins.
"He thinks he can bleed us dry by cutting off our traditional marketing pipelines," I said softly, a cold, predatory smile spreading across my face.
"Lyra, if we can't run the digital campaigns, the Milan launch will be a ghost town. The investors will panic," Noah warned, stopping behind my chair, his hands resting heavily on my shoulders.

I looked up at my husband, the terrifying fire of the Iron Queen igniting in my blood. Rossi thought he was dealing with a traditional fashion house. He forgot that I was a strategist forged in the underworld.
"We don't need traditional pipelines, Noah," I whispered. "If Rossi wants to lock us out of the mainstream, we will dominate the shadows. Call the cyber team. We are going to build a digital army."
