Chapter 4: The Empire Falls

The silence in the luxurious restaurant was absolute. The wealthy patrons watched in absolute horror as the highly respected billionaire casually confessed his darkest sin.

Eleanor did not cry anymore. The grieving, broken mother was gone, instantly replaced by a matriarch forged in pure fury.

"You started a fire in a hospital," Eleanor whispered, her eyes dark and merciless. "You let me weep over an empty grave for twenty-three years, all for money."

Richard straightened his suit jacket, a cold, arrogant smirk returning to his face. "And you can't prove a single word of this, Eleanor. Not without my money paying your lawyers."

"I don't need lawyers," Eleanor said softly. She slowly pulled out her phone and placed it on the table. "Look around you, Richard. Every table in this room is occupied by a member of the company's board of directors. They just heard every single word."

Richard froze. His blood ran cold as he looked around. The 'strangers' eating lunch were all staring at him with undisguised disgust.

Eleanor turned to the trembling waitress and gently took her hand. "Come, Emily. Let's go home. It is time to take back what belongs to you."
