Chapter 4 - The Reckoning

Dr. Mercer stepped out of the master bedroom, his face grim. Dante stood in the hallway, his charcoal suit discarded, his hands trembling.
"Malnutrition, severe dehydration, and cardiac strain," the doctor reported quietly. "Dante, she is starving herself to death. She has diet pills in her system that are shredding her stomach lining. Another few weeks, and her heart would have given out."
A cold, absolute fury, darker than anything the criminal underworld had ever seen, settled into Dante's bones. He left the doctor with his security chief, Leo Bennett, and marched back toward the dining room.
The twelve powerful guests were exactly where he had left them at 9:17 PM. No one had dared to test his threat.
Dante walked directly to Camila Bianchi, who was sitting rigidly next to her father, Lorenzo.
"Get up," Dante ordered, his voice a lethal whisper.
Camila stood, her face paling. "Dante, I assure you—"
Before she could finish, Dante grabbed her arm and dragged her down the hall, forcing her into the master suite where Mina was slowly regaining consciousness.
If you want to see the exact moment Dante’s wrath was unleashed, look at the file N3.jpg. The scene was a portrait of devastating exposure. Mina sat slumped at a small table in her white nightgown, her face red and swollen from crying, staring miserably at a plate of wilted lettuce and the very diet pills that were killing her. Dante, radiating absolute, terrifying rage, stood over her. His arm was extended, pointing fiercely at the door, banishing a shocked and trembling Camila Bianchi from his home, his life, and his city.
"You told her she wasn't enough!" Dante roared, the sound vibrating off the penthouse windows. He didn't care that Lorenzo Bianchi had followed them to the doorway. "You planted this poison in her head! You told my wife she needed to break herself to be worthy of this family!"
"She didn't fit in, Dante!" Camila shrieked, dropping her elegant facade. "Look at her! She was a fat baker from the Bronx! She was an embarrassment to your name!"
Dante moved so fast it was a blur. He didn't strike Camila—he didn't have to. He stopped inches from Lorenzo's face.
"The Bianchi family is finished in New York," Dante stated, his voice echoing with absolute finality. "Your shipping routes are seized. Your bank accounts will be frozen by morning. If I see your daughter in this city after sunrise, Leo will handle her. Get out of my house."

Lorenzo didn't argue. He grabbed his sobbing daughter and fled.
