Chapter 9 - The Virtual Honeypot

We didn't just have evidence; we had a loaded digital weapon. But to maximize their destruction and ensure Courtney’s permanent downfall, the execution had to be flawless and unequivocally public.

I knew Courtney’s narcissistic need for public validation was her greatest weakness. She wanted to see me broken in front of the elite. To lure her out, I leveraged my expertise in ad copywriting and curiosity gaps. I had my marketing team draft a fabricated, highly confidential internal memo using perfectly calibrated, suspenseful drama scripts designed to bait an intercept. The memo stated that APT Vietnam was on the verge of total bankruptcy due to the Meta lock, and that my only hope was a massive, multi-million-dollar acquisition deal with a major tech conglomerate.

The fake memo specified that I would be finalizing the signatures on Friday night at a prestigious industry gala hosted at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. I had Giang quietly drop the encrypted memo into a server pathway we knew Courtney was still monitoring.

Courtney took the bait instantly. Within hours, Tới intercepted text messages between Courtney and Marcus. They were planning to crash the gala, armed with their fake deepfake data on a flash drive, to publicly humiliate me in front of the acquiring executives and kill the deal forever.

They thought they were walking into my funeral. They didn't realize I had built their guillotine.

The grand ballroom of the Palace Hotel was a masterpiece of opulence, packed with the city's most powerful tech executives and digital marketers. Julian and I walked through the grand double doors, an imposing, impenetrable fortress of absolute power. I wore a backless, crimson silk gown that commanded the attention of the entire room.

At exactly 9:00 PM, the heavy mahogany doors swung open again.

Courtney and Marcus strode in. Courtney was draped in a flashy, desperate attempt at European luxury, dripping in diamonds. She looked incredibly smug, clutching a silver flash drive that she believed held the final nail for my coffin.

They marched straight toward the main stage, completely ignoring the stunned whispers of the elite crowd. Marcus shoved past a security guard, and Courtney grabbed the microphone from the podium.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Courtney’s voice boomed over the speakers, dripping with venom and arrogant victory. "Before anyone signs a single contract with this woman, you need to see the truth! She is a massive fraud, a criminal, and a liar!"

She aggressively plugged their flash drive into the main AV console. They fully expected the massive eighty-foot digital screens surrounding the ballroom to play their fabricated Seedance 2.0 deepfake, exposing me to the entire world.

I stood in the center of the room, calmly sipping my vintage champagne, and gave a subtle, sharp nod to Julian.

In the production booth high above the ballroom floor, Giang and Tới, dialed in remotely from Vietnam, hijacked the main feed.

The screens didn't display my face. They illuminated with undeniable, damning evidence of corporate cyber-terrorism.
