Chapter 3: The Empire Will Fall

Daniel stared out through the rain-streaked windshield. His entire reality—his wealth, his status, his childhood memories—was built on a monstrous, unimaginable lie. The father he had respected, the empire he was supposed to inherit, were all soaked in his sister's stolen youth.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out the crumpled letter he had stolen from his father’s office. The signature at the bottom read: Director Vance, Blackwood Manor.

"They will be looking for us," Maya whispered, looking out the window with terrified eyes. "Your father has men everywhere. The police are on his payroll. If they find me, they'll kill me. And if they know you know the truth... they'll lock you away with her."

Daniel slowly folded the letter and put it back in his pocket. The terrified, grieving son who had run to the park to cry was dead. In his place sat a man with the endless resources of a billionaire, fueled by fifteen years of stolen time.

"They aren't going to find us," Daniel said, his voice terrifyingly calm. He started the engine, the powerful car roaring to life in the quiet street.

"Where are we going?" Maya asked, shrinking into the leather seat.

Daniel shifted the car into drive, his eyes burning with an unyielding, lethal determination.

"My father spent fifteen years building a fortress to keep my sister in," Daniel said, stepping heavily on the gas pedal. "We are going to find the people who designed it, we are going to buy them out, and then... I am going to tear my father's empire to the ground."
