The three heavily armed bodyguards didn't just step inside; they moved with a synchronized, lethal precision that instantly suffocated the room. One of them yanked the service door wide open, revealing Brett and two other servers huddled in the hallway, stifling their laughter.

Brett's smug smile evaporated, replaced by sheer, primal terror.

The largest bodyguard grabbed Brett by the collar of his uniform and dragged him into the private dining room, tossing him onto the thick carpet like a discarded rag. The other servers scattered, running back to the kitchen in a blind panic.

"Mr. Marquetti," Brett stammered, scrambling to his knees, his hands raised in surrender. "I swear, it was just a misunderstanding. She's a new waitress. We didn't mean any disrespect."

Salvatore didn't look at Brett. He kept his dark, piercing eyes locked entirely on me.
