Chapter 4 - The Complete Destruction

Vivian stumbled backward, clutching her pearls. "What are you talking about, Mr. Vance? The Prescott family has owned this land for a century!"
"The Prescott family was drowning in hidden debt because your son is a puppet, not a CEO," Gabriel corrected, his voice echoing with merciless finality. "I bought the bank that held your mortgages. I purchased the liens on your hotels. And as of 9:00 AM this morning, I foreclosed on this estate. I am the sole owner of the ground you are standing on."
Julian fell to his knees right on the altar. He wasn't looking at the loss of his fortune. He was staring at the family he had abandoned, now fiercely protected by a man ten times more powerful than he could ever hope to be.
"Clara, please," Julian sobbed, the perfect heir entirely broken. "They're mine. I didn't know. My mother told me you just ran away. Please, let me be a father."
"You lost the right to be their father the day you let your mother tell me I was defective," I said coldly, looking down at the man I used to love. "Gabriel is their father. He was there for every nightmare, every birthday, and every milestone you were too weak to fight for."
The bride, Brooke Hensley, finally walked out of the mansion. She took one look at the bankrupt groom on his knees, the crying mother-in-law, and the ruthless billionaire holding the deed to the property, and she turned around and walked right back to her limousine.
Gabriel didn't even raise his voice for the final blow.
"You have exactly one hour to clear your guests off my lawn and pack your bags," Gabriel ordered Vivian, his eyes flashing with territorial dominance. "If you ever try to contact Clara or my children again, I will make sure the Prescott name is wiped from the history of this city completely."

Julian buried his face in his hands, weeping openly on the steps of the altar.
I didn't stay to watch him cry. I turned my back on the Prescott legacy forever, took the hands of my sons, and walked out of the estate alongside the most powerful man in the South.
