I reached into the hidden pocket I had explicitly instructed the seamstress to sew into the heavy folds of my custom gown. I pulled out a folded piece of heavy, watermarked paper.

"This is a motion for immediate annulment," I said, holding it up. "Based on the grounds of fraudulent intent. I had my lawyers draft it on Tuesday, just in case my suspicions about your sudden 'business trips' together were correct."

Vance took a step toward me, panic finally fracturing his perfect posture. "Sloan, please. Let's go to a private room. We can discuss this."

"There is nothing to discuss," I said coldly. "If I file this annulment, the marriage is voided. The trust remains mine. You get nothing."

"As the new majority shareholder," I announced to the room, "my first executive action is the immediate termination of Vance Thorne from Sterling Provisions, effective this exact second. You will return your company car, your corporate cards, and your building access by Monday morning."
