Chapter 9 - The Public Execution

We didn't just have evidence; we had a loaded digital weapon. But to maximize their destruction and ensure Sloane’s permanent downfall, the execution had to be flawless and unequivocally public.

I knew Sloane’s narcissistic need for public validation was her greatest weakness. She wanted to see me broken in front of the elite. I called my marketing team and had them draft a fabricated, highly confidential internal memo. The memo stated that APT was on the verge of total bankruptcy due to the Meta lock, and that my only hope was a massive, multi-million-dollar acquisition deal with a major tech conglomerate. The fake memo specified that I would be finalizing the signatures on Friday night at a prestigious industry gala hosted at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

I had Giang quietly drop the encrypted memo into a server pathway we knew Sloane was still monitoring.

Sloane took the bait instantly. Within hours, Tới intercepted text messages between Sloane and Marcus. They were planning to crash the gala, armed with their fake deepfake data on a flash drive, to publicly humiliate me in front of the acquiring executives and kill the "acquisition" deal forever. They wanted to watch my empire burn in person.

They thought they were walking into my funeral. They didn't realize I had built their guillotine.

The grand ballroom of the Palace Hotel was a masterpiece of opulence, packed with the city's most powerful tech executives and digital marketers. Julian and I walked through the grand double doors, an imposing, impenetrable fortress of absolute power. I wore a backless, crimson silk gown that commanded the attention of the entire room.

At exactly 9:00 PM, the heavy mahogany doors swung open again.

Sloane and Marcus strode in. Sloane was draped in a flashy, desperate attempt at European luxury, dripping in diamonds. She looked incredibly smug, clutching a silver flash drive that she believed held the final nail for my coffin.

They marched straight toward the main stage, completely ignoring the stunned whispers of the elite crowd. Marcus shoved past a security guard, and Sloane grabbed the microphone from the podium.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Sloane’s voice boomed over the speakers, dripping with venom and arrogant victory. "Before anyone signs a single contract with this woman, you need to see the truth! Elena is a massive fraud, a criminal, and a liar!"

She aggressively plugged their flash drive into the main AV console. They fully expected the massive eighty-foot digital screens surrounding the ballroom to play their fabricated Seedance 2.0 deepfake, exposing me to the entire world.

I stood in the center of the room, calmly sipping my vintage champagne, and gave a subtle, sharp nod to Julian.

In the production booth high above the ballroom floor, Giang and Tới, dialed in remotely from Vietnam, hijacked the main feed.

The screens didn't display my face. They illuminated with undeniable, damning evidence of corporate cyber-terrorism.

It was a digital masterpiece of public execution. The colossal screens displayed the wire transfer receipts, the IP logs tying the black-market VIA clone network directly to Sloane’s penthouse, and the raw source code of the AI deepfake. Finally, the audio system blasted a crystal-clear recorded phone call of Sloane and Marcus plotting to extort my investors using the fake video.

The entire gala erupted into shocked gasps and furious whispers. The billionaires and executives physically stepped away from Sloane and Marcus, looking at them with absolute, unadulterated disgust.

"You are corporate terrorists," I said, my voice echoing clearly through the silent, captivated room, carrying the weight of an absolute queen. "You used illegal bot farms and AI deepfakes to manipulate the market and attempt to destroy my company."

Sloane glared at me, her chest heaving, her face drained of all color. Her jaw worked silently as the reality of her absolute destruction washed over her. Marcus looked at the screens, realized they were about to be federally indicted, and literally dropped his champagne glass, backing away from his wife in sheer horror.

"FBI! Nobody move!"

The command thundered through the grand ballroom. From the stairwells and the main entrances, dozens of heavily armed federal agents from the Cyber Crimes Division swarmed the room. Laser sights danced across Marcus’s chest.

"Sloane Thorne, Marcus Thorne, you are under arrest for federal wire fraud, corporate espionage, and cyber-extortion," the lead agent announced, violently pulling their arms behind their backs to snap heavy steel handcuffs onto their wrists.

Sloane began sobbing hysterically, her knees buckling as she was dragged across the marble floor. "No! Elena, please! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!"

"You made your choice, Sloane," I said coldly, looking down at the pathetic, broken woman who had once been my best friend. "Enjoy federal prison."
