Chapter 1: The Hidden Heir

Alejandro stood holding his trembling wife, his expensive coat wrapped securely around her fragile shoulders. Vivian Moretti remained frozen on the stairs, the shattered pieces of her wine glass scattered across the wet marble floor. The luxurious mansion was dead silent, save for the heavy rain hammering against the tall glass windows.
Vivian’s mind raced desperately, trying to find a lie, a manipulation, anything to save herself. But before she could speak, a small, terrified voice echoed from the shadowed hallway connecting to the kitchen.
Everyone turned.
A young girl, no older than ten, crawled out onto the polished marble floor. She was dressed in an oversized, faded black-and-white maid’s uniform. In her small, bruised hands, she held a scrub brush and a bucket of soapy water.
When the little girl looked up and saw the tall man standing in the center of the room, the sponge slipped from her fingers. Tears instantly streamed down her freckled face.
"Dad!" she cried out, her voice cracking with years of suppressed agony. "Dad, she’s making me—"
Alejandro felt the air violently leave his lungs. It was Mia. His daughter. The child who had vanished alongside her mother three years ago.
Seeing her ultimate secret exposed, Vivian completely panicked. In a desperate, delusional attempt to pretend everything was normal, she quickly sat down on a velvet chair, crossed her legs, and forced a stiff, terrifying smile.
"You're home early," Vivian said, her voice shaking violently.

Alejandro didn't blink. He didn't breathe. He slowly stepped away from Elena and walked toward his little girl, his eyes locked onto the bruises on her arms and the dirty rag in her hands. He stopped right in front of Vivian, looking down at her with an expression of pure, concentrated lethal rage.
"Why is my daughter kneeling?" Alejandro’s voice was a low, terrifying whisper that made the walls themselves seem to tremble.
