Chapter 3: The Eviction

Arthur Sterling slowly stood up from the barber chair. The worn, ragged hoodie still hung from his shoulders, but the man wearing it now radiated a terrifying, undeniable aura of absolute power.

Vanessa completely froze. Her legs felt like they were turning to lead as she finally recognized the face she had only ever seen on the covers of Forbes magazine and on the lease agreements she signed every year.

"Mr... Mr. Sterling?" she stammered, her arrogant facade shattering into a million pieces. "I... I didn't..."

Arthur did not yell. He didn't have to. His voice was devastatingly calm, carrying a quiet authority that commanded the entire room.

"I spent the last three days living on the streets of my own city," Arthur said, his piercing eyes locking onto Vanessa's terrified face. "I wanted to see how the businesses operating under my name treat the most vulnerable people in our society when they think no one important is watching."

Vanessa took a shaking, desperate step back. "I-I didn't know it was you, sir! I swear! We have to maintain a high standard of clientele here to protect the brand! I was just doing my job!"

"You told me," Arthur interrupted, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper, "that my money wouldn't even pay for the marble floor I was standing on."

The entire salon held its breath.

Arthur turned to Julian, who was silently cleaning his scissors. The billionaire reached into the pocket of his ragged jeans and pulled out a sleek, black titanium card.

"Julian," Arthur said warmly, "you saw a human being in need of dignity. She saw dirt to be swept away."

Arthur turned back to the trembling manager, his eyes turning to ice. "Vanessa, your franchise lease is permanently terminated due to a violation of our ethical conduct clause. You have exactly one hour to pack your personal belongings and vacate my property. If you are not gone, the security guards you just called will escort you out."

Vanessa burst into tears, her luxurious life vanishing in a single sentence, but Arthur was already done with her. He placed a heavy, reassuring hand on Julian's shoulder.

"And Julian," the billionaire smiled, "congratulations. You are the new owner of this salon."
