Chapter 5: The Glass Ceiling Shattered

Julian opened his mouth to speak, to backtrack, to frantically apologize and spin his cruel words into some kind of twisted joke. But his vocal cords refused to work. He was paralyzed by the sheer magnitude of his own stupidity. He stood frozen in his crisp white suit, suddenly feeling incredibly small, incredibly poor, and utterly pathetic.
Elena didn't wait for his apology. She didn't need it, and she certainly didn't want it.
Without another word, she turned her back on him. It was the ultimate gesture of dismissal. She didn't look back to gloat; he was no longer worth her time or her energy.
The camera pulled back into a wide, dynamic tracking shot. Elena walked powerfully across the polished floor of the garage. Her posture was flawless, projecting fierce, unyielding confidence. She looked like a conqueror marching through her own domain. She strode past the silver Porsche, past the lines of brightly colored exotic cars that she owned, commanded, and created.
Marcus fell perfectly into step slightly behind her, flipping open his leather folio, immediately transitioning back to business as if the arrogant man in the white suit had never existed.
"Tell the board I'll be there in two minutes," Elena commanded, her voice ringing out strong and clear over the hum of the garage. "And have security escort the gentleman in the white suit off the premises immediately. If he resists, call the police."
"Right away, Ma'am," Marcus replied.
Elena approached the massive, sliding glass doors that separated the industrial garage from the sleek, high-tech corporate office space. As she neared, the sensors caught her movement, and the heavy glass doors parted seamlessly to grant her entry. She walked through them, stepping from the world of oil and steel into the world of luxury and absolute power, the black grease mark on her cheek worn proudly like a crown.
The glass doors slid shut behind her with a definitive, final click.

On the garage side, Julian was left standing entirely alone. He was completely abandoned among the millions of dollars of machinery he would never be able to afford, wearing a white suit that suddenly felt like a clown costume. He stared blankly at the closed glass doors, his entire life ruined by his own arrogant, superficial mouth.
Hard cut to black.
