Chapter 10 - The Sovereign Peace"Richard Vance," the lead federal agent barked, pulling a pair of heavy steel handcuffs from his belt. "You are under arrest for domestic terrorism, corporate espionage, and attempted murder. Stand up and put your hands behind your back."

The man who had terrorized the corporate underworld let out a pathetic, desperate sob as the agents wrenched his arms backward. He glared at Adrian, his eyes filled with venom and absolute ruin. "You can't do this! I own this city!"

"You own a concrete cell," Adrian corrected softly, standing up and buttoning his suit jacket. "Get him out of my sight."

Adrian and Marissa watched without a single ounce of pity as Richard was dragged out of his own boardroom in chains. The final, venomous root of Marcus’s corrupt empire had been permanently severed.

When the doors clicked shut, the silence in the boardroom was the most beautiful symphony Adrian had ever heard. He looked at Marissa. She didn't look like a grieving widow or a terrified target. She looked like a queen who had just conquered her own kingdom.

Months later, the crisp spring breeze swept across the sprawling, manicured lawns of their private estate. The toxic fallout of the syndicate was nothing but a footnote in the incredible history of the Keane Vanguard Foundation. They had not just survived the hurricane; they had harnessed the wind, transforming the scandal into a global movement that protected families and destroyed corporate corruption.

Adrian stood on the pristine driveway, looking up at the elegant mái nhật roof. It was a physical manifestation of the sanctuary they had fought so hard to defend.

He walked inside, stepping into the warm, glowing heart of the home. In the flawless stainless-steel kitchen, Marissa was laughing, lifting a giggling Owen onto the granite counter to help him frost a cake.

Adrian walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.

"We built a fortress," Adrian murmured, his voice rumbling warmly against her skin.

"We built a kingdom," Marissa corrected softly, turning in his arms to look up into his dark, loving eyes. "The steel and the concrete are just materials. The real foundation is the peace we refused to surrender."

As Adrian pulled her into a sweeping, passionate kiss, the world around them melted away, leaving only the profound, unshakeable security of the life they had built. The monsters were permanently locked away, the fortress was impregnable, and their beautiful, victorious world was finally, forever at peace.
