Chapter 4 - The Shattered Illusion

Sienna watched the police click the handcuffs around Graham’s wrists with absolute, paralyzing horror. The billionaire lifestyle she had eagerly homewrecked my marriage to secure was evaporating in real-time, replaced by the terrifying specter of federal indictments and prison sentences.
She didn't try to defend him. She didn't profess her love.
"I didn't know!" Sienna wept hysterically, backing away from Graham as the police hauled him to his feet. She held her hands up in surrender, frantically trying to save herself. "He told me the money was legitimate! He told me she was crazy! I had nothing to do with the fraud!"
Graham stared at her, blood dripping from his nose, utterly betrayed by the woman he had just risked his entire existence to impress. "You greedy, pathetic coward," he spat.

"Sienna," I interrupted, my voice perfectly level. "The police will be waiting for you in the lobby. I highly suggest you cooperate with the fraud investigators. Because if you try to run, my attorneys will ensure you are indicted as a co-conspirator."
The security guards escorted a sobbing, humiliated Sienna out of the ward, followed closely by the police dragging my disgraced, ruined husband. They were paraded through the crowded hospital lobby, their spectacular downfall witnessed by hundreds of people. The illusion of the perfect, powerful couple was permanently shattered into a million irreparable pieces.
