Chapter 12 - The Trojan NetworkThe sheer, terrifying speed of Arthur Vance’s assault was paralyzing. By noon, my corporate headquarters had been transformed into a high-tech bunker.

I paced the length of the glass-walled boardroom, refusing to let the panic show. “He used an internal authorization code to bypass the firewalls,” I told my executive team. “That means Arthur Vance didn't just hack us. He bought someone inside this building.”

I didn't bother calling corporate lawyers. I needed the ghosts in the machine. I locked the boardroom doors and initiated a highly encrypted, offshore video conference line. Within seconds, two brilliant digital architects I kept strictly off the books—Nguyễn Xuân Tới and Nguyễn Trường Giang—appeared on the massive screen.

“We have a critical situation,” I said, bypassing all pleasantries. I shared my screen, feeding them the backend data logs of the financial drain. “A shadow investor named Arthur Vance is utilizing an internal backdoor to siphon our escrow accounts.”

Tới adjusted his glasses, his eyes scanning the cascading lines of code with terrifying speed. “This is a highly sophisticated data breach, Claire. He isn't just stealing money; he’s deploying a self-replicating virus to wipe your client databases clean.”

“Can you trace the internal authorization code?” Mark asked, leaning over the console.

Giang’s fingers flew across his mechanical keyboard. “The code originated from an IP address tied to your senior accounting department. But Arthur is masking the external transfer through thousands of decentralized proxy servers. If we try to shut down the server manually, his algorithm will trigger a total data wipe.”

“We don't shut it down,” Tới smiled, a brilliant, dangerous glint in his eye. “We use a digital sponge. I am going to aggressively reroute his extraction queries through our custom web traffic platform, slink.live.”

“What will that do?” I asked, leaning closer to the screen.

“The slink.live platform will act as a two-way mirror,” Giang explained calmly. “It will seamlessly absorb the financial drain, creating a phantom ledger. Arthur will think he is successfully stealing real funds, but he will actually be downloading useless, encrypted ghost data. Meanwhile, the platform will silently scrape the digital signatures of the cryptocurrency wallets he is using to receive the funds.”

“Do it,” I commanded, a fierce, calculating fire igniting in my chest. “I want every single digital receipt downloaded, decrypted, and weaponized. And I want the name of the mole inside my company.”

For the next six hours, the digital war raged in absolute silence. Arthur pumped illicit commands into our network, confident in his absolute victory. But Tới and Giang were flawless. The slink.live platform swallowed every single malicious hit.

At exactly 6:00 PM, the encrypted line chimed.

“We got him,” Tới announced, his voice vibrating with triumph. “The cryptocurrency routing numbers lead directly back to a blind trust registered in Geneva. The sole signatory is Arthur Vance.”

“And the mole?” I asked, my voice turning to ice.

Giang flashed a digital log onto the screen. “The internal breach was authorized by Sarah Jenkins, your VP of Finance. We intercepted her encrypted emails. Arthur promised her a two-million-dollar payout to insert a flash drive into the mainframe.”

I smiled, a ruthless, predatory expression. They had handed me the exact rope I needed to hang them both.
