Chapter 15: The Immortal Legacy

Three days later, the Geneva summit was a distant memory, and the financial world had entirely recalibrated to a new, terrifying reality: The Kensington-Thorne empire was an immortal, untouchable force of nature.
The private jet touched down softly on the tarmac of the private airfield in upstate New York. The late afternoon sun bathed the world in a warm, golden hue. A convoy of black, armored SUVs was waiting to take us back to the sanctuary of our estate.
As we walked down the stairs of the jet, Cassian reached out and took my hand, his grip warm, strong, and deeply anchoring.
"The European markets are terrified," Cassian murmured as we slid into the back of the primary SUV. "Our stock has surged another twelve percent since Croft’s liquidation. No one will ever dare challenge your authority again."
"Good," I smiled, leaning my head against his solid shoulder. "I prefer to spend my time building, not destroying. But it is always necessary to remind the wolves that the shepherd is armed."
When the iron gates of our estate swung open, a profound, beautiful peace washed over me. The wars of the boardroom, the petty vendettas of arrogant men, the ghosts of my past—they all ceased to exist the moment I crossed this threshold.
We walked through the massive double doors of the manor.
"Mommy! Daddy!"
Aria came sprinting down the grand hallway, a tiny blur of energy in a white summer dress. Cassian dropped to one knee, catching her effortlessly in his massive arms, lifting her high into the air as her bright, joyous laughter echoed against the marble walls.
I watched them, my heart swelling with a love so fierce and absolute it defied logic. This was my true empire. Not the billions of dollars, not the glass skyscrapers, and not the fear I commanded on Wall Street.
This little girl, completely safe, wildly loved, and destined to inherit a world free of predators.
Cassian walked over to me, holding Aria in one arm, and wrapped his free arm around my waist, pulling me flush against his chest. He kissed my forehead, a lingering, devoted promise.
"We are home, my Queen," Cassian whispered.

"We are," I replied, looking up into his stormy eyes, knowing that no matter what threats the future held, we would face them together. The dynasty was forged in steel, tempered in fire, and bound by an unbreakable love.
The reign of Serena Kensington was absolute, and it was only just beginning.
