Chapter 13 - The Titanium TrapThe flight to the Nevada desert was a blur of high-stakes adrenaline. We flew low in a stealth-modified Gulfstream, avoiding civilian radar entirely.

At 6:00 A.M., the Nevada sun was just beginning to bleed over the horizon, casting long, blood-red shadows across the barren landscape. The entrance to Silas’s bunker was hidden beneath an abandoned mining facility.

We sat in the back of a heavily armored tactical rover, parked a mile away from the entrance.

I looked at my encrypted tablet. The twenty-four-hour deadline was up.

"Initiate the transfer," I commanded.

In New York, Elias hit the switch. The massive, disguised data packet was beamed directly to Silas’s microwave receiver.

Inside the bunker, Silas’s technicians eagerly downloaded what they believed was the key to global domination. They plugged it directly into their pristine, air-gapped mainframe.

The progress bar on my tablet flashed green. PAYLOAD DELIVERED. EXECUTING OVERRIDE.

"We’re in," I breathed, watching the digital schematic of the bunker light up on my screen.

"Locking the primary blast doors," Adrian rumbled, tapping the command console.

Miles away, deep underground, the massive titanium doors of Silas’s bunker slammed shut with a deafening, hydraulic thud. The magnetic seals engaged, entirely locking the syndicate inside.

"Now," I smiled, "let’s see what the Director is hiding."

The virus didn't just lock the doors. It tore through Silas’s servers, extracting decades of highly classified, illegal blackmail. We found the ledgers proving Silas had orchestrated political assassinations, rigged international trade deals, and laundered billions through offshore military contractors.

"He’s not a patriot," Adrian sneered, looking at the horrifying data. "He’s a warlord in a suit."

"And now, he’s a prisoner," I said, my eyes hardening into diamonds. "Elias, route a live video feed from my tablet directly to the main screen in Silas’s command center."

The screen blinked, and Silas Vance’s face appeared. He was no longer calm. He was red-faced, screaming at his technicians as alarms blared in the background.

When he saw my face on his screen, he froze.

"What have you done?" Silas hissed, absolute, unadulterated panic bleeding into his voice. "The blast doors are sealed! The oxygen scrubbers are failing!"

"I didn't fail the scrubbers, Silas. I just locked the door," I said smoothly, my voice projecting with crystal-clear, freezing authority. "You thought you could threaten my child and simply walk away with my empire? You forgot that I am the architect of my own reality."

"If you don't open these doors, I will have my snipers execute your daughter!" Silas screamed, desperately clinging to his shattered leverage.

"Your snipers have been sitting in a black-site holding cell for ten hours," Adrian stepped into the frame, radiating pure, lethal menace. "You have nothing. You are nothing."

May you like

I tapped the screen, pulling up the unredacted ledgers of his assassinations and blackmail.

"You wanted my data to destroy the world, Silas," I whispered softly. "I am going to use your data to destroy you."
