Chapter 5 - The Heir Established

The silence in the room was deafening.

The assassins looked at the tablet, then at Luca, whose gun had not wavered a single millimeter, and finally at the seventeen-year-old girl who had just dismantled a multi-million dollar criminal empire from a hospital wheelchair.

Slowly, the lead assassin lowered his rifle. He unclipped his tactical vest, dropping it to the floor. The other two followed suit. Without saying a single word, the three men turned and walked out of the room, abandoning a war that was no longer profitable.

Luca slowly lowered his weapon. The adrenaline was still burning in his veins, but it was rapidly being replaced by something entirely new. It was a profound, overwhelming sense of awe.

He walked around the wheelchair and crouched down, looking directly into Elena's eyes. Up close, the resemblance was undeniable. She had his jawline, his cool composure, and his absolute, terrifying brilliance.

"You orchestrated this," Luca said, his voice a low murmur. "You knew they were coming."

"I needed them to breach the physical perimeter so I could trace the localized IP addresses of their encrypted phones back to Moretti's central server," Elena explained simply, as if discussing the weather. "I couldn't drain the accounts until they opened the door."

Luca stared at her, a slow, genuine smile breaking across his hardened features. He had mourned the death of his bloodline for twelve years. He had believed he would leave nothing behind but ash and violence.

Instead, he was looking at an absolute masterpiece.

"You are incredibly reckless," Luca said, reaching out to gently brush a stray lock of dark hair from her forehead.

"I'm a Mancini," Elena replied, her chin tilting up with fierce, unbreakable pride. "I heard we don't know how to be anything else."

Luca stood up, resting his large hands securely on the handles of her wheelchair. The ghost of his past had not just survived; she had arrived to claim her throne.

"No, we don't," Luca agreed, turning the chair toward the door. "Now, let's go home, Elena. We have an empire to reorganize."
