Chapter 9 - Total LiquidationThe reality of their absolute ruin crashed down on them in real-time. Vance’s face drained of all color. His hands began to shake violently, spilling his whiskey onto the convention center floor.

“You... you manipulated the market,” Vance stammered, pulling out his phone frantically.

“No,” I said, gesturing to Sarah, who had quietly stepped up behind me alongside two federal agents. “I protected my company from corporate espionage. You two engaged in wire fraud, insider trading, and corporate extortion.”

Julian’s brain short-circuited. He looked wildly around the crowded expo hall, realizing there was no escape. The cameras from the press had already started flashing, catching every second of the confrontation.

“Evelyn, wait—” Julian reached his hand out, a pathetic, desperate attempt to beg, just like he had by the freezing pool all those months ago.

“I told you once not to touch me,” I said, my voice echoing with icy finality.

The federal agents stepped forward. “Julian Sterling and Vance Sterling, you are under arrest for conspiracy to commit corporate fraud.”

As the cold steel handcuffs snapped around Julian’s wrists, he began to sob. It was a pathetic, humiliating display. The exact same man who had laughed while I suffered was now weeping in front of the entire Silicon Valley elite.

Vance was screaming at Julian, blaming him for the entire disaster as they were dragged away by the FBI.

I didn't watch them leave. I turned my back on them, straightening my emerald jacket. The press was swarming, shouting questions about the dramatic arrest.

I walked directly to the microphone on the center stage.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” I announced, my voice carrying over the massive speakers, silencing the room. “Evelyn Holdings is thrilled to officially launch the V2 Quantum System. The future of automotive technology is here, and it is built on an absolutely unbreakable foundation.”

The room erupted into deafening applause.
