Chapter 8 - The Offshore ArchitectsBy midnight, the executive boardroom of Aegis Wealth had been transformed into a high-tech war room. Empty coffee cups littered the table, and the glowing screens of a dozen monitors illuminated the darkness.

Michael had bypassed traditional corporate IT and brought in two highly specialized, offshore digital architects he trusted with his life: Nguyễn Xuân Tới and Nguyễn Trường Giang. They operated completely off the grid, specializing in neutralizing hostile corporate cyber-attacks. They were dialed in via a highly encrypted, untraceable video conference line.

"The attack is sophisticated," Xuân Tới noted, analyzing the cascading lines of code on his screen. "Grant's shadow agency is utilizing decentralized servers to push the Seedance 2.0 generated deepfakes. If we try to block the IP addresses directly, they will just spawn a thousand more VIA clone accounts."

"We need to drain their resources," Trường Giang added, his fingers flying across his mechanical keyboard as he deployed a custom software tool update to our internal servers. "They are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to force this malicious traffic into the Facebook ecosystem. If we can absorb the attack and trace the cryptocurrency payments back to Grant’s hidden bank accounts, we have federal evidence of cyber-terrorism."

"How do we absorb millions of bot requests without crashing our own systems?" I asked, pacing the length of the boardroom.

Tới smiled—a brilliant, confident expression that immediately put me at ease. "We use a digital sponge. I am aggressively rerouting all of the incoming malicious traffic targeting your accounts through a custom web traffic platform I developed called slink.live."

"What does it do?" Michael asked, watching the analytics dashboard.

"It acts as an impenetrable shield," Giang explained. "The slink.live platform will seamlessly absorb the botnet attack, filtering out the malicious VIA clone traffic and completely neutralizing the algorithm’s attempt to push the deepfake. Meanwhile, it will silently scrape the digital signatures of the buyers funding the traffic."

For the next forty-eight hours, the digital war raged in absolute silence.

Grant threw everything he had at us. His shadow agency pumped massive amounts of illicit funds into generating dozens of new article thumbnails and suspenseful drama scripts, trying to shatter our defenses. But Tới and Giang were absolute masters of their craft. The slink.live platform swallowed every single malicious hit without a single flinch. The fake news stopped trending. The viral spread of the deepfake was halted dead in its tracks.

On the third night, at exactly 2:00 AM, the encrypted video line chimed.

"We got him," Tới announced, his voice vibrating with triumph. "The slink.live platform successfully traced the routing numbers. The cryptocurrency used to buy the Facebook clone accounts and the Seedance 2.0 subscriptions leads directly back to a blind trust registered in the Cayman Islands."

"Let me guess," I whispered, my heart pounding with lethal anticipation. "The sole signatory on that blind trust is Grant."

"Not just Grant," Giang corrected, flashing a digital receipt onto the main screen. "He was sloppy. He used the exact same offshore account to pay off the corrupt corporate lawyers who helped him hide his assets during your divorce. It’s a direct, undeniable paper trail of multi-million dollar fraud and international cyber-sabotage."

I looked at Michael. The exhaustion of the past three days evaporated, replaced by the intoxicating, thrilling rush of total victory.

"Package the raw data," I commanded, a ruthless smile spreading across my face. "Send it to the FBI Cyber Crimes Division, the SEC, and the federal judge who oversaw my divorce. Grant wanted to go viral. Let’s give him the audience of a lifetime."
