Chapter 13 - The Fortress of Steel

We didn't drive to the corporate office. The firm’s servers were already locked down, and the building was surrounded by opportunistic paparazzi. We needed a sanctuary where the physical and digital defenses were absolute.

We walked into our newly designed, twelve-square-meter kitchen.

When Julian and I had mapped out this exact space—precisely 4.3 meters long by 2.8 meters wide—we hadn't just designed a place to cook. We had designed a tactical command center. The custom 304 stainless steel cabinets didn't just gleam flawlessly in the ambient light; they housed a massive, subterranean cooling unit and a decentralized proxy server bank. The tempered glass doors were shatter-proof. The room was industrial, beautiful, and completely indestructible.

"Lock down the estate," I commanded, pulling my primary encrypted laptop from a concealed steel drawer.

Julian engaged the heavy steel bulkheads that protected the first floor. "The kids are fast asleep upstairs. The perimeter is secure, Evelyn. You have the floor."

I sat at the granite island, my fingers flying across the keyboard in a blur of motion. I didn't waste time trying to issue takedown notices to social media platforms; Vivienne’s traffic arbitrage network was too vast, constantly regenerating new clone accounts the moment old ones were banned.

"We have to hijack her rendering pipeline," I explained, my eyes tracking the cascading lines of code. "She’s using a modified Seedance 2.0 workflow to generate these deepfakes. If I can isolate the specific scene-by-scene prompt structures and the exact character parameters she is inputting to create these fake victims, I can trace the digital fingerprint back to her root server."

For six agonizing hours, the storm raged outside our Japanese-style roof, but inside the stainless steel kitchen, the silence was absolute. I sifted through mountains of synthetic data, peeling back the layers of Vivienne’s digital witchcraft.

At 4:12 AM, the screen flashed a brilliant, blinding green.

"I have the prompt parameters," I breathed, the adrenaline singing in my veins. "She left a microscopic backdoor in her rendering software to update the scripts for her Virtual KOCs. She thinks it's encrypted."

Julian smiled, a fierce, unwavering expression of pride. "So what do we send through the backdoor, Evelyn?"
