Roman didn’t blink.
"I gave him a promotion."
Evelyn stared at him. "A promotion?"
"My family owns a real estate development firm in Chicago," Roman said smoothly.
"They needed a new lead architect."
"It pays triple his current salary. Comes with a corner office."
"He left on a private jet an hour ago."
Evelyn's mouth dropped open.
"You bought my date a new life just to get rid of him?"
"I didn't hurt him," Roman pointed out.
"He was very happy."
"He shook my hand."
Evelyn let out a breath of pure disbelief.
"You are insane."
