Chapter 5 - The Yes

Evelyn looked into the dark eyes of the underboss.

She thought about her father’s warnings.

She thought about the gun hidden in Roman’s jacket.

Then she thought about the way he looked at her when he thought she wasn't paying attention.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

Roman's expression changed.

The tension in his shoulders vanished.

A real, genuine smile finally broke across his face.

"Anywhere you want."

He opened the door of the black car for her.

Evelyn stepped inside.

She knew exactly what she was walking into.

The mafia. The danger. The unpredictable future.

But as Roman slid in beside her and gently took her hand, she knew one thing for certain.
