Chapter 2: The Bride's True Colors

"This is completely unacceptable!"

The shrill, furious scream shattered the emotional reunion. Clarissa, the bride, stomped down the aisle, her face flushed with pure, aristocratic rage. She grabbed the heavy silk fabric of her designer gown, sneering down at the reunion on the floor.

"Tony, get up this instant!" Clarissa commanded. "You are ruining my perfect day for a filthy hotel maid and a crying brat!"

Tony slowly stood up. The warmth in his eyes instantly evaporated, replaced by a cold, terrifying steel.

"That 'brat'," Tony said, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper, "is my son. And this woman is my mother."

"Your mother is a myth!" Clarissa spat, crossing her arms. "Your father told me she was a gold-digger who ran away with another man! Look at her, Tony. She scrubs toilets for a living. She is an embarrassment to our social circle. Security! Throw her out!"

Two burly security guards stepped forward from the shadows of the ballroom.

"If either of you takes one more step toward her," Tony warned, turning his deadly gaze on the guards, "I will personally make sure you never work in this city again."

The guards immediately froze, stepping back into the shadows.

Clarissa gasped, her jaw dropping in disbelief. "You are taking the side of the help over your own bride?!"
