Chapter 3: The Price of Arrogance

The wealthy woman’s legs nearly gave out. Her friends stopped laughing instantly; their faces were ashen, their eyes wide with the sudden, nauseating realization that they had just committed social suicide.
Isabella took one step forward, her gaze locked onto Beatrice’s terrified face.
"You slapped me because you thought I was a nobody," Isabella continued, her voice growing stronger with every word. "You humiliated me in front of everyone because you believed I was beneath you. But the truth is… I didn't say anything earlier because I didn't need to. I had the power to stop you all along."
She offered a smile—a proud, chilling, and triumphant smile that sent a shiver through the room.
"Now, I do."
Beatrice’s mouth opened and closed, but no sound came out. She was hyperventilating, the reality of her catastrophic error crashing down on her like a tidal wave. She had insulted her own landlord—a woman who could ruin her with a single signature.
Isabella didn't wait for an apology. She turned to the manager, her authority absolute.
"Escort these women out of my store," she ordered. "And make sure their names are added to the permanent blacklist. They are never allowed to step foot in any of my properties again. Not here, not anywhere."

As security moved in—gently but firmly taking the arms of the three women—Beatrice turned back, her eyes swimming with pure terror and the biting sting of regret. She looked at Isabella, who now stood in the center of her own temple of luxury, radiant and untouchable.
The arrogant woman had come looking for a victim, but she had walked directly into a trap of her own making. The price of arrogance had never been higher, and for Beatrice, it was paid in full. Isabella turned away, leaving the woman to her exile, the bride who was finally the master of her own destiny.
