Chapter 5: The Uninvited Guest

Inside the penthouse office of the showroom, the atmosphere was a stark contrast to the chaos on the street.
Isabella sat behind a massive, sleek mahogany desk. The delicate bridal gown had been carefully stored away, and she was now wearing a sharp, tailored black blazer. She didn't look like a blushing bride anymore. She looked like a predator sitting comfortably at the top of the food chain, quietly sipping Earl Grey tea as she reviewed the financial ledgers of her newest acquisition.
Suddenly, the private elevator chimed.
The heavy steel doors burst open, bypassing the security desk entirely.
Julian Kingsley stormed into the penthouse, his face flushed with arrogant fury. He was a tall, imposing man in a pristine charcoal suit, accustomed to people trembling the moment he entered a room. Beatrice followed closely behind him, clutching his arm, her cruel smirk completely restored as she glared at Isabella.
"I told you I would be back, you arrogant little brat," Beatrice sneered, stepping out from behind her husband's shadow.
Isabella didn't flinch.
She didn't stand up. She didn't even look surprised. She simply took another slow, deliberate sip of her tea, her icy gaze locked onto the furious couple.
"I believe I ordered security to permanently blacklist you," Isabella said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
"You don't give orders in this city!" Julian roared, slamming both of his heavy hands down onto Isabella's mahogany desk. "I am Julian Kingsley. I own the banks that finance this entire block! I don't care what fake purchase agreement you signed today. I am freezing your assets, I am tying this property up in endless litigation, and I am going to make sure you spend the rest of your pathetic life paying off my legal fees!"
He leaned in closer, his breath hot and threatening.
"Now," Julian demanded, "You are going to get out of that chair, you are going to get on your knees, and you are going to beg my wife for forgiveness."
The silence in the penthouse was suffocating.
Beatrice crossed her arms, a triumphant, wicked gleam in her eyes. The trap was set. The hammer had dropped.
But Isabella didn't kneel.
Instead, she offered that same chilling, proud smile. She set her teacup down with a soft clink.
"Julian Kingsley," Isabella mused, slowly opening a leather folder on her desk. "CEO of Kingsley Financial. A very impressive title. But it seems your wife forgot to ask me one very important question before she slapped me downstairs."

Julian frowned, his arrogant confidence faltering for a fraction of a second. "What question?"
"She forgot to ask for my last name."
