Chapter 1 - The Blueprint

I clicked the folder labeled Wedding.

My hands were no longer shaking.

Fear had vanished, replaced by a cold, absolute clarity.

Inside the folder were not photographs of our beautiful day at Rosecliff Mansion.

There were receipts.

Invoices.

Timelines.

I opened a subfolder titled "Initial Contact."

There was a receipt for a charity gala ticket in Manhattan—the exact night Graham and I had "accidentally" bumped into each other by the coat check.

He hadn't spilled his drink near me by chance.

Sienna had mapped my schedule.

I opened another document.

It was a draft of Graham's wedding vows.

The beautiful, tear-jerking vows that had made me believe I was the luckiest woman in the world.

There were comments in the margins, written by Sienna.

"Mention her father here. She still grieves him. It will guarantee she cries."

My stomach turned.

They hadn't just studied my finances.

They had weaponized my grief.

I opened the final document.

It was a contract between Graham and Sienna, signed and notarized by a private lawyer.

It outlined a 70/30 split of the Mercer Maritime Trust, to be executed once Graham secured legal control of my assets through our marriage.

Sienna wasn't just his mistress.

She was his business partner.

And I was the acquisition.

I safely copied every file, every receipt, and every email onto my own encrypted drive.

Then I put Graham's hard drive back in the safe, locked it, and walked out of the room.

My husband was sleeping peacefully in the guest room.

He thought he had married a naive woman who didn't know her own worth.

He was about to learn that my father had raised a trial attorney's daughter.
