Chapter 13 - The Blueprint of RetaliationFor the next forty-eight hours, we did not sleep. We survived on adrenaline, black coffee, and a fierce, blinding determination to eradicate the threat permanently.

Damian Cross was brilliant, but arrogance always leaves a footprint. We traced his shell companies, his offshore traffic purchases, and the source code of his virtual fashion avatars.
"We can't just release this to the press," Julian warned on Thursday night, rubbing his tired eyes. "Damian controls the media narrative. He will bury our press release using the same algorithmic suppression he used to attack us. He will claim we fabricated the evidence out of desperation."
"Julian is right," I agreed, walking over to the window. The snow was falling heavily now. "We cannot fight him in a press conference. We need an audience he cannot control, and a stage he cannot walk away from."
"Tomorrow night is the Slink Global Fashion Summit in Manhattan," Sophie interjected, reading from her tablet. "Damian is hosting a massive live-streamed event to unveil his new line of virtual KOCs to his major investors and international fashion brands."
"He will be on stage," I realized, the architecture of an execution forming in my mind. "Broadcasting live to millions of his own followers. He thinks it’s his coronation."
"He won't let us within a mile of the building," Maya pointed out.
"He won't have a choice," I smiled smoothly. "Because we are not going as Blue Ridge. We are going as investors."
Julian’s eyes darkened with lethal understanding. He picked up his encrypted phone and dialed a contact from his old venture capital days—a billionaire who owed Julian his freedom. Ten minutes later, we had two VIP, all-access passes registered under a dummy corporation.
I spent the next three hours drafting our counter-strike. I knew how to navigate the strict compliance standards of Facebook advertising and global broadcasting. I wrote copy that was legally bulletproof, emotionally devastating, and entirely irrefutable. We embedded the forensic proof of Damian’s illegal traffic purchases into a self-executing video file.
"When we plug this into his mainframe," Maya said, handing me a sleek, encrypted USB drive, "it will override his presentation. It will broadcast to every screen in the venue and directly to his live stream. There is no kill switch."
I took the drive. It felt heavy with the weight of absolute justice.
Years ago, I had allowed men like Ethan to dictate my worth because I was afraid of the conflict. I had believed that endurance was the same thing as strength.

I looked at the drive, and then up at Julian.
"Let’s go to New York," I said. "It’s time to pour the concrete."
