Chapter 14 - The Manhattan Ambush

Ghost pulled up a live flight manifest and GPS tracking data ripped directly from Vance’s compromised server.
"Arthur Vance isn't in Europe," Ghost explained. "He flew into New York this morning. He is hosting the Global Real Estate Innovators Summit at the Waldorf Astoria tonight. He plans to use his keynote speech to announce his new venture capital firm, positioning himself as the savior of the American market just as he expects Vanguard to collapse."
Claire looked at the screen, a slow, predatory smile spreading across her face. Arthur Vance wanted to use the destruction of her empire to elevate his own. He wanted an audience.
"Elena," Claire said, turning to her assistant. "Fire up the corporate jet. We are going to New York."
The grand ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria was a masterpiece of gilded opulence, packed with the world's most powerful billionaires, hedge fund managers, and international press. Claire did not sneak in through the service elevators. She walked straight through the main entrance, wearing a stark, powerful crimson pantsuit that commanded the absolute attention of the entire room. She moved with the unyielding, terrifying confidence of an apex predator.
She slipped into the VIP section of the main auditorium just as the keynote presentation began.
Arthur Vance strode onto the massive stage, exuding an aura of untouchable privilege. Behind him, colossal eighty-foot digital screens displayed the sleek, professional logo of his new shadow corporation.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Arthur’s voice boomed over the speakers, dripping with arrogant triumph. "The era of fragile, mismanaged American real estate is over. Today, I unveil a new standard of global investment. A syndicate built on absolute transparency and unshakeable foundations."
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a sleek remote, ready to unveil his heavily doctored financial projections.
Claire stood up from her front-row seat. She didn't say a word. She simply looked Arthur dead in the eyes and gave a subtle, sharp nod to her phone.
Halfway across the country in the Chicago war room, Ghost hijacked the mainframe.
The eighty-foot screens behind Arthur didn't display his financial projections. The screens violently glitched, washing the auditorium in a harsh, glaring red light. Then, undeniable, damning evidence illuminated the hall.
It was a digital masterpiece of public execution. The screens displayed the raw cryptocurrency receipts tying Arthur to the black-market botnets. They displayed the IP logs of his orchestrated attacks on Vanguard Holdings. And most devastatingly, they displayed the decrypted Swiss banking ledgers proving his syndicate was laundering billions for international cartels.
The entire summit erupted into absolute, chaotic pandemonium.
Billionaires leaped out of their seats. Journalists frantically pointed their cameras at the screens. The investors who had been sitting in the front row physically backed away in sheer disgust.
Arthur staggered backward, the remote dropping from his trembling hand, shattering on the stage. The color completely drained from his aristocratic face as he watched his untouchable empire burn to ash in a matter of seconds.
He looked down at the audience, his eyes locking onto Claire.
"You," he breathed, his voice cracking with pure terror.
"I told you, Arthur," Claire said, her voice projecting clearly over the chaos, carrying the weight of an absolute queen. "I don't hand over my empire to terrorists."
"FBI! Nobody move!"

The command thundered through the auditorium. Dozens of heavily armed federal agents from the International Financial Crimes Division swarmed the stage from the wings. They had been waiting in the shadows, briefed by Claire’s legal team and armed with the decrypted server data Ghost had extracted.
Arthur Vance collapsed to his knees as the agents swarmed him, violently pulling his arms behind his back to snap heavy steel handcuffs onto his wrists. He looked out at the thousands of peers who were now staring at him with absolute disgust. His syndicate was permanently dismantled.
