Chapter 15 - The Titanium KingdomThe crisp autumn air carried the scent of wet asphalt and curing concrete. I stood holding a steaming cup of coffee, looking out over the active construction site of our new fortress.

The 180-square-meter footprint was magnificent. The Mác 250 concrete for the raft foundation had been poured and cured to absolute perfection. It was an indestructible slab, anchored deep into the earth, capable of bearing the weight of the two-story architectural masterpiece that was rapidly rising above it.
We had absorbed Apex Media’s assets seamlessly. By drafting airtight service contracts for page growth on the newly acquired Facebook profiles, we had increased our corporate revenue by forty percent in a single month. The mole had been dealt with legally and aggressively, blacklisted from the industry forever.
Our team of thirty staff members had received massive bonuses, their loyalty cemented for life. We weren't just a company anymore; we were an institution.
I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around my waist, pulling my back against a warm, solid chest. Ethan rested his chin on my shoulder, looking out at the heavy machinery lifting steel beams into the sky. A few yards away, Leo was sitting safely in the grass with his nanny, playing with a toy dump truck, completely oblivious to the wars his parents fought to keep his world perfect.
"The structural framing will be done by Friday," Ethan murmured, kissing the curve of my neck. "The security contractors are installing the biometric locks next week."
"It's going to be beautiful," I smiled, leaning into his embrace.
"You were ruthless this week, Mrs. Vance," Ethan said, a tone of deep, intoxicating reverence in his voice. "Harrison is facing bankruptcy, and three of his board members resigned this morning."
"Harrison thought he could play in the deep end without learning how to swim," I replied, my voice calm, reflecting the absolute peace in my soul. I turned around in Ethan's arms, looking up into the dark, fierce eyes of the man who had stood by me through fire and blood.
"We are the deep end," Ethan corrected softly.
I reached up, tracing the line of his jaw. The syndicate was dust. Apex was a memory. Every threat that had dared to rise against us had been mathematically, systematically, and violently dismantled.

We had built our legitimate empire using brilliance, code, and unbreakable grit. We had poured a foundation so deep that no storm could ever shake it.
"Come on," I whispered, pulling my husband in for a deep, lingering kiss that tasted of victory and forever. "Let's go home. We have an empire to run."
