Chapter 20 - Absolute ZenithThree weeks later.

The morning sun broke over the horizon, casting a brilliant, golden glow over the pristine lawns of our estate. The storm was a distant memory. The Mác 250 foundation had barely even registered the chaos. The house stood proud, immaculate, and utterly impenetrable.
I sat on the edge of the sprawling mahogany deck, a cup of freshly brewed espresso warming my hands. I wore a silk robe, my bare feet resting against the smooth wood.
The news playing softly on the outdoor flat-screen TV confirmed everything. Julian Croft had been indicted on seventy-four counts of federal racketeering, corporate espionage, and domestic terrorism. The media was calling it the greatest financial collapse of the century. Vanguard Holdings had dissolved into dust.
And Slink v2? We had just reported our highest-grossing quarter in the history of the company.
The glass doors slid open behind me. Ethan stepped out, dressed in casual linen pants and a soft white t-shirt, carrying Leo on his shoulders. Leo was giggling, holding a toy airplane and flying it through the morning air.
"Incoming!" Ethan laughed, jogging over and gently dropping Leo onto the soft cushions of the outdoor sofa.
I smiled, setting my coffee down and pulling Leo into my lap, kissing the top of his head. He smelled like baby shampoo and absolute innocence. He would never know the monsters that lurked in the dark, because his mother and father had slaughtered every single one of them.
Ethan sat down next to me, sliding his arm around my waist and pulling me close. He looked out over the sprawling property, the manicured gardens, the high-tech security perimeters hidden seamlessly within the landscaping.
"I got off the phone with Chloe this morning," Ethan said, his thumb tracing gentle circles on my hip. "The new Facebook US contracts are signed. Our revenue is projected to scale another thirty percent by Christmas. The staff is throwing a celebration at the secondary office today."
"They deserve it," I said, leaning my head against his shoulder. "They fought like hell for us."
"We fought like hell for us," Ethan corrected softly.
He turned my face toward him. The dark, fierce intensity in his eyes had softened into a deep, unwavering ocean of love. We had been tested by fire, by betrayal, by the most powerful syndicates in the world. And every single time, we had emerged sharper, stronger, and more unyielding.
"We built the kingdom, Megan," Ethan whispered, his forehead resting against mine. "And there isn't a force on earth that can tear it down."
"Because they know better now," I replied, a slow, confident smile spreading across my lips.

I looked out at the rising sun, feeling the solid weight of Ethan beside me and the warmth of my son in my arms. We weren't just survivors anymore. We were the architects of our own destiny. We had written the code, laid the concrete, and conquered the deep end.
The world was ours. And we were never letting it go.
