Chapter 12 - The Synthetic Avalanche

The line went dead, leaving the flawless, quiet kitchen in a heavy, suffocating silence. Harper stared at me, her dark eyes hardening into unbreakable titanium. The APT Syndicate wasn't a rumored cartel; they were the ghostwriters of global digital corruption, the invisible hand that moved markets and dictated elections.

"They think they can use bureaucratic warfare and federal agencies as a hostage," Harper whispered, walking over to me and pressing her hands flat against the granite island, grounding herself in the reality of the threat. "They think because you wear silk and host charity galas, you forgot how to fight in the trenches."

"We don't pay them a single dime, Harper," I said, a fierce, volcanic wrath igniting in my chest. "We erase them from the internet."

I kissed Leo on the forehead and had my head of security escort him down to the subterranean panic room. Once the heavy steel bulkheads locked securely into place, Harper and I turned our indestructible kitchen into an impenetrable digital command center. I bypassed our traditional security protocols and activated a dormant, shadow network of cyber-architects I had retained from my early, ruthless days in the industry. APT wanted to play a digital game of extortion. I was going to give them a digital bloodbath.

"They aren't just filing fake internal labor rules," I told Harper, my fingers flying across the keyboard in a blur of motion as I isolated the inbound malicious data streams. "They are preparing a massive traffic arbitrage campaign to destroy my public credibility before the federal agents even arrive with warrants. They are actively bypassing Google Ads rejections entirely by purchasing raw, unmonitored web traffic."

"How are they distributing it on social platforms without triggering the automated platform flags?" Harper asked, watching the monitors light up with cascading threat warnings.

"They are utilizing the absolute deepest underground vendors," I explained, tracing the malicious IP packets through a maze of proxies. "They just purchased tens of thousands of aged Instagram profiles and Facebook clone accounts from black-market hubs like SieuStore. They are using these clone networks to push fabricated deepfakes of me supposedly admitting to embezzling corporate funds. And they are routing all the malicious traffic through a centralized, heavily encrypted tracking domain called slink.live."

I ran a brutal, high-intensity hardware diagnostic on my own localized servers, ensuring the APT Syndicate hadn't planted any physical parasitic microchips in our network architecture during a routine maintenance sweep. The core memory and processors were pristine. The attack was entirely external, relying on overwhelming, artificial volume to drown out the truth.

"They think they can drown us in synthetic smoke," I whispered, a dark, predatory smile touching my lips. "But they are using cheap, rented bot farms to distribute their lies. I am going to hijack their rendering pipeline and choke them with it."
