Chapter 9 - The Silicon GuillotineI reached into my emerald clutch and pulled out a sleek, encrypted titanium tablet. I tapped the screen once, instantly hijacking the pavilion’s massive AV system.

The mocking graphic of my company vanished from the massive screen behind Marcus. In its place, the raw, un-redacted legacy code appeared, clearly highlighting my embedded ghost protocol pulsing in red.
"You see, Marcus," I said smoothly, my voice echoing through the silent, massive auditorium, "when you stole my code three years ago, you thought you were stealing my future. You didn't realize I left a backdoor open so I could walk directly into your house."
Marcus turned around, looking at the screen. The color completely and utterly drained from his face. The untouchable CEO shattered in a microsecond.
"My tracker audited your entire mainframe last night," I announced to the thousands of industry leaders and journalists in the room. I swiped the tablet, bringing up the unredacted offshore wire transfers and the illegal spyware logs.
"I didn't just find the proof that you forged the metadata in your lawsuit against me," I said, my voice ringing with a fierce, uncompromising fire. "I found the offshore slush funds. I found the illegal data-harvesting operations. You didn't just commit corporate sabotage, Marcus. You committed massive international wire fraud and cyber-treason."
"You... you hacked my servers!" Marcus shrieked, his aristocratic facade entirely destroyed as he backed away from the podium.
"I didn't hack them. I exposed them," I whispered coldly.
The heavy doors of the pavilion burst open. A dozen federal agents in dark tactical suits marched directly down the aisle, their badges flashing under the venue lights.
"Marcus Vance!" the lead agent barked, storming the stage. "You are under arrest for massive federal wire fraud, extortion, and corporate espionage."
Marcus didn't fight. He was completely paralyzed by the sheer, devastating speed of his own destruction. As the agents slapped heavy steel handcuffs onto his wrists, he shot one last, terrified, pleading look at me. The smug predator who had laughed while I drowned was gone, replaced by a broken, pathetic man facing decades in a concrete cell.
"You haven't won!" he wept as they dragged him off the stage, the cameras flashing mercilessly in his face.
"I won the moment I refused to drown," I replied softly, my voice carrying the absolute finality of a judge delivering a death sentence.
The silence in the grand pavilion was absolute. As the federal agents dragged the ruined ghost of my past out into the crisp Seattle night, the power brokers of the world stared at me in profound, awe-struck terror.
I didn't gloat. I calmly picked up a fresh glass of sparkling water from a passing waiter's tray.

"My apologies for the interruption, ladies and gentlemen," I said, offering the stunned room a radiant, devastatingly beautiful smile. "Please. Enjoy the summit."
I took Julian’s arm, and we walked out into the cool, starlit night, leaving the burning wreckage of Marcus’s empire entirely behind us.
