I leaned my head back, capturing Julian's lips in a deep, passionate, completely intoxicating kiss that sealed our history and ignited our limitless future.
The terrified, accommodating girl who had cried in a lonely mansion was a ghost, buried permanently under a mountain of steel, glass, and absolute resilience. The queen had not just taken her throne; she had forged a sovereign empire that no man, no ghost, and no monster could ever tear down.
