Chapter 19 - The Gala ExecutionTo completely destroy an aristocrat who operates in the shadows, you must drag him into the blinding light and strip him of his illusions of power in front of the entire world.

The interior of the Grand Palais was a breathtaking monument to high fashion and technology. Thousands of industry leaders, celebrities, and global media were seated around the massive, glossy black runway.

Silas Thorne sat in the absolute center of the front row, holding a crystal glass of champagne. When he saw me walking toward him, his confident, mocking smirk widened. He thought he had broken me.

"Claire," Silas purred loudly, ensuring the nearby journalists caught the exchange. "I must admit, I admire your bravery. Showing your face here when you have no textiles and a dead digital campaign. It’s a bold swan song."

"I never miss a premiere, Silas," I said smoothly, stopping precisely three feet from him. My voice projected with crystal-clear, freezing authority.

"Enjoy the silence," Silas sneered.

The house lights plunged into total darkness. The crowd hushed.

Suddenly, a massive, fifty-foot holographic projection ignited at the head of the runway. It was Lumina. She was flawlessly rendered, wearing the breathtaking centerpiece of our new collection. The audience gasped in awe.

Silas’s smile froze.

"Hello, Paris," the virtual KOC spoke, her voice synthetic velvet. "Welcome to the future."

Immediately, the real runway flooded with light, and forty live models began marching down the catwalk, wearing the exact, physical replications of the garments Silas thought he had destroyed. The crowd erupted into rapturous applause.

Silas staggered backward, the color completely and utterly draining from his face. The untouchable billionaire shattered in a microsecond.

"That’s impossible," Silas hissed, his hands trembling. "I bought the factories. I crushed the algorithm!"

"Nothing is impossible to the people who built the machine," I smiled, stepping entirely into his personal space. I pulled my encrypted titanium tablet from my clutch and tapped the screen once.

Instantly, the massive holographic screens above the runway shifted. The fashion graphics dissolved, replaced by the unredacted ledgers from Silas’s Geneva mainframe in towering, crystal-clear detail.

"When you utilized illegal clone accounts to sabotage my channel, Silas," I announced, my voice cutting through the stunned silence of the room. "You thought you were stealing my future. You didn't realize I was using your arrogance as a backdoor into your entire criminal empire."

"I found the offshore wire transfers proving you orchestrated international extortion and corporate bribery," I continued, pointing to the screens. "But more importantly, I found the ledgers proving you have been laundering money for sanctioned European cartels."

"You... you fabricated this!" Silas shrieked, his aristocratic composure completely disintegrating into hysterical fury. "Security! Arrest her!"

"I didn't fabricate anything. I exposed you," I whispered coldly.

The heavy brass doors of the Grand Palais burst open. A dozen federal agents from Interpol, flanked by the French Financial Police, marched directly down the runway.

"Silas Thorne!" the lead agent barked. "You are under international arrest for massive wire fraud, market manipulation, and money laundering!"

Silas didn't fight. He was completely paralyzed by the sheer, devastating velocity of his own ruin. As the tactical officers forced him to his knees and snapped heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists, he shot one last, terrified, pleading look at me.

"You haven't won," he wept as they dragged him away, his legacy permanently burned to ash.

"I won the moment you thought a mother was a weak target," I replied softly.
