Chapter 3 - The Mistress’s Eviction

The collapse of Graham Ashford was swift, brutal, and entirely public.

When Graham finally dragged himself back to his luxury penthouse, completely broken and facing the terrifying reality of his bankruptcy, he didn't find comfort in the arms of his "true love."

Vanessa had already received a phone call from one of her friends at the corporate office. She knew the money was gone. The private jets, the limitless black cards, the designer gowns—it had all evaporated the second the board froze Graham's assets.

Graham walked into the master bedroom to find Vanessa frantically throwing her expensive clothes into her designer luggage.

"Vanessa, wait, please," Graham begged, his voice cracking as he reached out for her. "We can fight this. I can hire lawyers. We can get it back."

Vanessa didn't even look at him. Her face, usually so warm and inviting when his wallet was open, had turned into a mask of pure, icy disgust.

"With what money, Graham?" she snapped, zipping up her suitcase with a harsh, final pull. "Your accounts are frozen. The company lawyers are on their way right now to seize this penthouse because it's technically a corporate asset. I didn't spend the last three years waiting in the wings to play nursemaid to a broke, unemployed loser."

"I did this for you!" Graham shouted, tears of pathetic desperation falling down his face. "I gave up my wife and my son so we could be together!"

"No, Graham," Vanessa sneered, grabbing her purse and walking toward the door. "You gave them up because you're a selfish, arrogant fool who didn't read the fine print. Don't ever contact me again."

The heavy penthouse door slammed shut, echoing through the massive, empty apartment. Graham was left entirely alone, possessing absolutely nothing but the crushing, suffocating weight of the consequences he had brought upon himself.
