Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable Kingdom

One year later, the dark, suffocating memories of Wyatt and Savannah felt like a distant, fading nightmare that belonged to a completely different lifetime.
The sun was shining brilliantly over the sprawling, manicured lawns of our new private estate in the suburbs of Chicago. The air smelled of blooming jasmine and fresh earth. I stood in front of a breathtaking floral archway, wearing a flawless, custom-designed white silk wedding gown, my heart beating with profound, overwhelming joy.
David stood at the end of the aisle, looking at me as if I were the only light in the universe.
When the string quartet began to play, I didn't walk down the aisle alone. I felt a small, warm hand slip confidently into mine. I looked down at six-year-old Leo, who was wearing a miniature tuxedo that perfectly matched David’s. He looked up at me, his dark eyes shining with pure, unshadowed happiness.
“Ready, Mom?” Leo whispered, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze.
“I’m ready, sweetheart,” I smiled, tears of absolute gratitude blurring my vision.
As we walked down the aisle together, surrounded by the people who had protected, supported, and celebrated us, I felt an unbreakable sense of peace settle over my soul. When we reached the altar, David didn't just take my hand. He knelt down first, looking directly into Leo’s eyes.
“Thank you for walking her down to me, buddy,” David said softly.
“You’re welcome, Dad,” Leo beamed, wrapping his arms around David’s neck for a tight hug.
Hearing that word—Dad—spoken with such effortless, genuine love, healed the final, lingering scar on my heart.

I looked at the beautiful, indestructible family I had built with my own two hands. I had survived the gaslighting, the betrayal, and the ruthless corporate warfare. I had taken the absolute worst moments of my life and used them as the raw materials to construct an empire.
As David stood up and pulled me into a passionate, breathtaking kiss, sealing our vows under the golden afternoon sun, I knew with absolute certainty that the villains were permanently locked away. The fortress was secure. I had conquered the darkness, and my beautiful, victorious life was finally, completely mine.
