Chapter 7 - The Digital Guillotine

I did not retreat. I did not crumble. I walked upstairs to the nursery and looked at my sleeping daughter, a fierce, volcanic wrath igniting in my chest. Kensington thought because I wore a tailored suit and ran a charity, I had forgotten how to destroy a man’s life. He had just made a fatal miscalculation.

I walked into our master bedroom. Sofia was sitting at her vanity, brushing her dark hair. I met her eyes in the mirror and told her everything. She didn't weep. She didn't tremble. The woman who had survived my world stood up, her eyes hardening into absolute, unbreakable titanium.

"He thinks he can use our family as a hostage," Sofia whispered, walking over to me and pressing her hand flat against my chest. "We don't pay him a dime, Adrian. We erase him."

We didn't call the police. We moved downstairs to our newly renovated, twelve-square-meter kitchen. The space was a tactical masterpiece, lined with custom 304 stainless steel cabinets and tempered glass doors. It was industrial, beautiful, and completely indestructible. We turned the granite island into an impenetrable digital war room.

I bypassed our traditional security and activated a dormant, shadow network of cyber-architects I had retained from my past life. Kensington wanted to play a digital game of extortion. I was going to give him a digital bloodbath.

"He’s using a secured proxy server to mask his offshore accounts," I told Sofia, my fingers flying across an encrypted laptop. "We aren't going to just block his fake indictments. We are going to deploy a Virtual KOC network."

I utilized bleeding-edge text-to-video AI prompt engineering. I didn't generate fake news; I created a hyper-realistic, automated digital ghost. I disguised the malware packet as a high-level donor contribution to Kensington's political action committee.

"He thinks he locked us in a corner," I said, a dark, predatory smile touching my lips as I watched the code compile. "I’m sending the ghost directly into his root server. The moment his automated campaign finance system accepts the fake donation, the ghost is going to plant a backdoor right in the center of his shadow ledgers."

At 3:14 AM, the screen flashed a brilliant, blinding green.

"The ghost is in," I whispered, the adrenaline singing in my veins. "I have direct administrative access to Senator Kensington’s entire political machine. And he doesn't even know I have the keys."
