Chapter 9 - The Broadcast Execution

I left the unconscious hitmen zip-tied on the floor and walked calmly back to my encrypted terminal. The digital trap was primed, and it was time to drop the guillotine.
I initiated a direct, encrypted video link to Senator Kensington’s private terminal in downtown Chicago.
For a moment, the screen was black. Then, the video connected. Kensington was sitting in his opulent office, wearing a silk robe, anticipating my complete surrender.
"Adrian," Kensington smiled, swirling his bourbon. "I assume my associates have arrived to assist you with the wire transfer?"
"Your associates are currently unconscious in my kitchen, Thomas," I replied, my voice echoing with lethal, freezing calm. "And I didn't call to negotiate a transfer. I called to inform you that your political career no longer exists."
Kensington’s arrogant smirk instantly vanished. "What are you talking about?"
"While you were busy sending thugs to my home, I used a synthetic ghost to bypass your encryption," I explained, leaning closer to the camera. "I have been inside your shadow ledgers for the last three hours. I saw the blood money you took from the cartels. I saw the bribes you accepted to silence federal witnesses."
"You can't touch those accounts!" Kensington roared, his pristine facade shattering into sheer, unadulterated panic. His hands flew across his keyboard, realizing that he was completely locked out of his own mainframe.
"I already did," I whispered, dropping the hammer. "I just initiated a high-frequency transfer protocol. I broke your entire multi-million-dollar illicit reserve into a hundred thousand micro-transactions. And I funneled the cash directly into the public, verifiable bank accounts of the FBI, the SEC, and your political rivals."
"You’re draining me!" Kensington shrieked, the color completely leaving his face.
"I am erasing your legacy," I corrected. "I just broadcasted your unredacted ledgers, complete with your personal GPS coordinates, to every major news outlet in America. Your cartel clients know you lost their money, Thomas. And the FBI knows exactly where you are sitting."
On the screen, the heavy mahogany doors of Kensington’s office violently burst open. A tactical team of armed federal agents flooded the room, their weapons drawn.

"Senator Thomas Kensington!" the lead agent barked, slamming the politician face-first onto his antique desk. "You are under arrest for international money laundering, conspiracy to commit murder, and corporate extortion!"
I watched without a single ounce of pity as the untouchable kingmaker was dragged out of his office in heavy steel handcuffs, screaming and sobbing as his empire collapsed into absolute ruin. I severed the connection, leaving the kitchen in stunning, beautiful silence.
