Chapter 15 - The Unbreakable DynastyTo conquer the world is a remarkable feat. But to ensure that your world lasts forever—that is the mark of true divinity.

One month later, the federal threat was a distant memory. Agent Hayes had resigned in disgrace. The Romano syndicate’s assets were fully restored, legitimized, and completely untouchable.

It was a brilliant, sunlit Saturday afternoon in autumn.

The sprawling, historic estate we had purchased in the Hamptons was breathtaking. The manicured lawns rolled down to a private, heavily guarded beach.

Today, the estate was transformed into a sanctuary of cascading white orchids, sheer silk drapery, and blinding crystal. The guest list was a curated selection of the most powerful people on the Eastern Seaboard—mayors, judges, corporate titans, and the highest-ranking capos of our newly forged empire.

I stood in the bridal suite, looking at my reflection in the gilded mirror. I wore a custom-designed, sweeping gown of intricate French lace, the fifteen-carat diamond sparkling fiercely on my finger.

I didn't look like a terrified single mother. I didn't look like a crisis consultant. I looked radiant, absolute, and undeniably lethal.

Leo, looking incredibly handsome in a miniature black tuxedo, ran into the room.

"Mommy! You look like a princess!" he beamed, throwing his arms around my waist.

"And you look like a king, my sweet boy," I smiled, kneeling down to kiss his forehead. He was safe. He was completely, unequivocally insulated from the darkness of the world by a fortress of blood and steel.

The string quartet began to play a sweeping, emotional melody.

I walked down the grand, flower-lined aisle. I wasn't walking toward a business merger, or a life of performative submission. I was walking toward my equal.

Dante stood at the altar, waiting for me. He looked like a god in his bespoke tuxedo, his green-flecked, pitch-black eyes shining with an intense, burning devotion that took my breath away. He hadn't just stood by my side during the wars; he had handed me the sword and celebrated my victories. He was my partner, my protector, and my king.

When I reached him, his grip on my hand was strong, familiar, and eternal.

"You are terrifyingly beautiful," Dante whispered, a rogue, brilliant smile touching his lips.

"I am undeniable," I whispered back.

We exchanged our vows under the open sky. They were not promises of traditional obedience. They were vows of absolute loyalty, of building a future that no one could ever tear down, of standing back-to-back against whatever storms the world dared to send our way.

When the priest pronounced us husband and wife, Dante pulled me flush against his chest and kissed me with a fierce, passionate possession that sent a shockwave of electricity straight to my core. The crowd erupted into deafening cheers.

Later that evening, the reception was a masterpiece of luxury and joy. Dante and I stood on the grand balcony of the estate, looking out over the glittering, endless expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.

Dante wrapped his strong arms around me from behind, resting his hands gently over my waist.

"We won, Elena," Dante murmured, kissing the side of my neck. "The city is ours. The empire is legitimized. There is no one left to fight."

I leaned back against his solid chest, looking out at the endless horizon.

I had spent my youth terrified of the dark, running from ghosts, hiding my son from a world that wanted to consume him. I had been dragged into a syndicate of blood and violence, and I had been pushed to the absolute brink of my sanity.

But fire does two things. It destroys, and it purifies. The woman who had cried in the shadows had survived the fire, but the woman standing on this balcony had conquered the flames.

I looked at my husband. I watched my son playing on the lawn, protected by an army of fiercely loyal men. I looked at the world that lay entirely at my feet.
