Chapter 18 - The Trojan DirectiveSenator Vance scoffed, though a microscopic bead of sweat formed on his brow. "You are arrogant. Arrest her. She is trespassing."

His private security stepped forward, but Adrian moved seamlessly, his towering frame instantly intimidating the guards. "I wouldn't do that," Adrian rumbled, his voice a lethal promise. "The perimeter of this building is currently surrounded by thirty independent investigative journalists."

"You have no proof of anything," Vance hissed, stepping closer. "I am the federal government. You are nothing."

I reached into my clutch and pulled out a sleek, encrypted tablet. I tapped the screen once and held it up for him to see.

"You see, Senator," I smiled, my eyes hardening into chips of diamond. "When you raided my Maryland data center, you triggered a localized honeypot protocol. The servers you seized didn't contain my algorithm. They contained a decentralized Trojan virus that reverse-engineered your DOJ clearance."

Vance’s face drained of every drop of color.

"I have your offshore ledgers, Thomas," I whispered, stepping entirely into his personal space. "I have the wire transfers proving you sold classified military contracts to foreign adversaries to fund your super PACs. And five minutes ago, I forwarded this exact tablet to the Director of the FBI and the Senate Ethics Committee."

"You... you hacked a federal official," he choked out, absolute terror replacing his arrogance.

"I didn't hack you. I exposed you," I replied.

The heavy oak doors of the gala burst open. A dozen federal agents in dark suits marched directly through the crowd of horrified politicians.

"Senator Thomas Vance, you are under arrest for treason, international wire fraud, and extortion," the lead agent barked, snapping heavy steel handcuffs onto his wrists.

As they dragged the screaming, ruined politician out of the glittering hall, the power brokers of Washington stared at me in profound, awe-struck terror.
