Chapter 23 - The Blackout ProtocolBy dawn, the Tuscan estate was empty.

We didn't take the private jet. That was tracked. We took a battered Fiat from the groundskeeper's garage and drove three hours to a private airstrip outside of Florence, boarding a chartered, untraceable cargo plane headed for Chicago.

If Eleanor Sterling wanted to play a media war on American soil, I was going to bring the fight directly to her doorstep.

We set up our command center in an abandoned, subterranean server farm on the South Side of Chicago—a property I had purchased years ago under a shell company for exactly this kind of doomsday scenario. The air was thick with the hum of heavy cooling fans and the glow of massive, analog monitors.

"She has completely frozen the Foundation's assets," Sofia said, her fingers flying across a mechanical keyboard. "The SEC and the FBI have launched a joint task force. We are officially fugitives."

I stared at the wall of monitors, watching the news anchors tear my name apart. They called me a fraud. A master manipulator. They paraded fake victims on television, crying about how I had stolen their money.

"She thinks she can drown us in public opinion," I said, leaning over the console. "She thinks because she locked us out of the banking system, we are powerless."

"Are we?" Sofia asked, looking up at me.

"No," I smiled, a cold, predatory grin. "Eleanor is old money. She understands banks. She understands courts. But she doesn't understand viral architecture. She doesn't understand the algorithms that actually run the modern world."

I pulled up a hidden partition on the mainframe. A piece of software I had been developing in secret for the last three years. I called it The Hydra.

"What is that?" Sofia asked, her eyes widening as lines of complex, aggressive code flooded the screens.

"It's an automated, decentralized publishing network," I explained. "It doesn't rely on mainstream media or traditional servers. It hijacks the proxy servers of every major social media platform. Millions of dummy accounts, instantly generating and pushing out un-censorable content to United States audiences. If Eleanor wants to control the narrative, we are going to break the algorithm."

I hit Execute.

Within sixty seconds, the internet began to fracture. The Hydra flooded Facebook, X, and TikTok with undeniable, hard-coded evidence of Eleanor Sterling's actual crimes. We didn't just leak documents; we leaked audio recordings of her ordering hits. We leaked the offshore routing numbers. We leaked the names of the judges she had bribed for the custody suit.

"The algorithm is prioritizing our data," Sofia laughed in disbelief, watching the engagement metrics skyrocket into the billions. "The mainstream news is trying to suppress it, but they can't. It's trending number one globally."

"I told her I built a kingdom," I whispered, watching Eleanor's empire begin to publicly burn. "She just forgot who the Queen was."
