Chapter 14: The New Era

Six months later.
The grand ballroom of the Sterling Country Club was filled with the city's elite. But this wasn't a party of arrogant socialites mocking the less fortunate. This was a charity gala, hosted entirely by the newly rebranded "Leo & Mia Foundation."
I stood on the stage, wearing a stunning emerald green gown, looking out at the crowd of hundreds.
"For generations, wealth in this city has been used to build walls," I spoke into the microphone, my voice echoing clearly across the silent, attentive room. "It has been used to intimidate, to control, and to exclude. But true power is not measured by who you can destroy."
I looked down at the front row.
Daniel was standing there, holding three-year-old Mia in his arms, while little Leo held his hand. They were looking up at me with absolute adoration.
"True power," I continued, "is measured by who you can protect. Tonight, we are launching an initiative that will fully fund the education and healthcare of five hundred underprivileged families in this city. We are taking the legacy of the past and using it to build a foundation for the future."
