Chapter 16: The Master of the Board

The morning sun rose over the massive estate that I now owned.

I sat on the patio, wrapped in a warm blanket, holding a steaming cup of coffee. The garden was in full bloom, a vibrant sea of colors that stood in stark contrast to the cold, sterile environment Eleanor had once maintained.

The glass doors slid open.

Leo and Mia ran out in their pajamas, their laughter echoing through the morning air like music. Daniel chased closely behind them, pretending to be a monster, scooping them up into his arms as they squealed with absolute joy.

I watched them from my chair.

My heart was full. My mind was at peace.

The woman who had wept on a rainy night, humiliated and discarded, felt like a lifetime ago. I hadn't just survived the worst betrayal of my life. I had weaponized my grief, dismantled my enemies, and seized the throne.

I looked at my children, safe, loved, and protected by a fortress of absolute power and unwavering truth.

I took a sip of my coffee, feeling the warmth spread through my chest.
